DMCA POLICY

DRAFT FOR LEGAL REVIEW. Not in effect until approved and published.

Our policy

Clout Chasing respects the rights of creators. We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement that follow the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). If you own a video or other material on Clout Chasing and didn't give permission for it to be there, tell us and we'll take it down.

How to send a takedown notice

Send a written notice to our Designated Agent (details below) that includes: (1) your physical or electronic signature; (2) a description of the copyrighted work you say is being infringed; (3) the exact URL of the post on Clout Chasing where the material appears; (4) your name, address, phone number and email; (5) a statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use isn't authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law; and (6) a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act for the owner.

Designated Agent

Hood Box Office LLC, Attn: DMCA Agent. Mailing address, email and phone: ____ (to be added once the agent is registered with the U.S. Copyright Office).

Counter-notice

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to our Designated Agent that includes: your physical or electronic signature; identification of the material removed and the URL where it appeared; a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification; and your name, address and phone number, with a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you're outside the United States, any judicial district where Hood Box Office LLC may be found) and will accept service from the person who sent the original notice. We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving a valid counter-notice, unless the complaining party tells us it has filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

After two valid takedown notices about content someone sent us, that person can no longer submit clips.

Embedded videos

Many posts embed videos hosted on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, X and other platforms. You can also report those videos directly to the platform that hosts them.

False notices

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing, or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees.
